Detective Bureau

The Glen Ridge Police Department's Detective Bureau handles investigations related to all crimes committed within the Borough. Our Detective Bureau investigates crimes including but not limited to homicide, burglary, theft, narcotics, vice, juvenile, and computer crimes. Detectives also conduct background investigations for licensing, permits, firearms and pre-employment screening related to public safety.

Finger Printing

The Detective Bureau also provides fingerprinting services for Glen Ridge residents. Fingerprinting is often required for employment purposes. Fingerprinting services are not available for immigration related matters. Applicants requiring immigration fingerprinting must contact US Immigration & Naturalization Service directly.

Fingerprinting services are provided on Fridays from 2:00pm-4:00pm for Glen Ridge residents. An appointment is required. To arrange for an appointment, please call the Detective Bureau at 973-748-4116.

Goggles
Detective Edward Johnson at the 2005 Arts Festival, participants use the Fatal Vision goggles, when worn they demonstrate the impairment of the affect of alcohol. Different goggles have different ranges of intoxication.
     
Senior Circle
November 9, 2007, Glen Ridge Senior Circle attended the Triad University VI Seminar at the Monmouth County Police Academy, Freehold, New Jersey. The training session brings together law enforcement, offices on aging and medical and social service practitioners dealing with the elderly on contemporary senior initiatives. Detective Edward Johnson accompanied and arranged the Glen Ridge contingents.
