       Tuesday, November 1, 2005, Detective Edward Johnson front and center with the Glen Ridge Seniors Group, Det. Johnson presented a 1 hour program on Identity Theft and Fraud to the Group at the Glen Ridge Senior/Community Center. The Glen Ridge Police Department Crime Prevention Unit offers the following services free of charge to the residents of Glen Ridge:

Back to School Safety Tips - It is important to help the children get to and from school safely, here are some tips for our residents.

Home Security Survey - Have your home evaluated by a Certified Crime Prevention Practitioner to ensure that you are guarded against becoming a victim of a crime.

Combat Auto Theft - Register your vehicle with the Police Department to reduce the chance of auto theft and if stolen increase the likelihood of its recovery.

Neighborhood Watch - Organize your neighborhood to keep crime out of your back yard. Take part in the annual National Night Out, a special night that focuses on crime prevention.

Crime Prevention Seminars - Have your organization or groups invite our Crime Prevention Officers to speak about the latest crime prevention techniques.

Operation ID - Engrave your household items with an "owner applied number" to assist the police with property recovery.

Neighborhood Safety Tips

Joggers/bicyclists should wear a reflective vest when you are out at night.

Bicycles should be locked at all times when not in use. Bicycles should be stored inside the house for added safety.
