The Mayor and Council of the Borough of Glen Ridge, in conjunction with New Jersey Transit, are pleased to provide the Jitney Service Program. This program will provide Glen Ridge commuters transportation to the Ridgewood Avenue Train Station near the corner of Ridgewood and Bloomfield Avenues.
How does it work?
The purpose of the program is to provide the community with transportation to the Ridgewood Avenue Train Station. The shuttle buses will make stops throughout the Borough at designated locations. The buses will only stop at these designated areas and will not stop for "flag downs." Simply board the bus and enjoy the ride to the train station.

Where does it stop?
The program now has two shuttle buses, the North End Bus and the South End Bus. The shuttle buses will run in loops through each neighborhood. Please see the map on the reverse side for the exact location of each of the stops.
What does it cost?
Beginning Monday, February 7, 2011 anyone wishing to ride on the Jitney must pay a fare. The Jitney fare pilot program will end on Tuesday, May 31, 2011 at which time a permanent fare policy will be instituted.

Monthly Pass Cards and Trip Books may be purchased by mail. Payment and application must be received 10 days prior to the last day of the previous month to receive a Monthly Pass Card by mail. For your convenience, we encourage you to purchase your Monthly Pass Card for all four months of this pilot program at one time.
Monthly Pass Cards and Trip Books may also be purchased at Borough Hall (room 102) Monday through Friday 8:30am – 4:30pm and at the Ridgewood Avenue Train Station on the third and fourth Thursday of each month 3:00 pm – 7:00 pm.

Evening Drop Off
The evening shuttle buses will wait for the train to arrive and drop off passengers at the same locations as the morning pick up. The shuttle buses will depart from the Ridgewood Avenue Train Station at 4:19, 5:08, 5:23, 5:54, 6:17, 6:52 and 7:26. Please note that only one shuttle bus serves the 4:18 and 5:08 p.m. trains.
