Glen Ridge

Lead Water Service and Supply Line Information

About

To improve public health and water quality, the Borough of Glen Ridge
undertook a Lead Service Line Replacement Program to replace all
residential water service lines that are made of lead materials throughout
the Borough.  The Borough does not have exceedance levels of lead
content in the water.

The replacement program replaced the Borough's portion of the service line
from the water main in the street to the curb stop (the shutoff valve
located near the curb line). Construction began in November 2019 and was
completed in September 2020.

Impacted homeowners were by the contractor each morning prior to work
beginning.

In addition, the Borough reviewed individual properties' water service cards
to determine the material of supply pipe used from the curb stop of the
supply line to the home. This section of piping is the responsibility of the
property owner. Property owners where records indicate have iron or lead
piping in this supply line were sent a letter informing them on this
condition, and provided options of them to have the line replaced if they
choose. The Borough strongly recommended customers plan to engage a
contractor to replace the customer owned portion of the lead service line.

Updated Lead/Water Supply Side Information

In accordance with NJ's Lead Service Line Replacement Bill, the Borough of
Glen Ridge is required the post the inventory of the customer side water
